VIDEOHARBOR

Why a video may not be detected

A page that plays video in an app does not necessarily expose a downloadable media URL to a website parser. Separate a link problem from a playback or access restriction.

Open the video workspace

1. Start with the original share link

Copy the video's public share URL rather than a search-result page, a screenshot or a temporary player address. Verify that the original link still opens. An expired resource cannot be repaired by submitting it repeatedly.

2. Use the route that can observe playback

When the website finds no supported media, try the Android browser or the desktop extension on a page you are permitted to access. Grant site access in the extension, then start playback. Detection can depend on the page making its media requests.

3. Read the actual limit

Login-only pages, robot checks, DRM and unsupported manifests are different causes. The website does not accept your platform password or promise to bypass these restrictions. An empty result does not establish that no video exists.

4. Report the failing stage

Send the public URL, device or browser version and the exact error through support. Say whether the page plays in the original browser and whether detection returns zero cards or a card whose preview fails.
